Sports broadcaster Eurosport has further grown its collection of Olympic sports rights, agreeing a deal for United World Wrestling events.
The three-year deal, from 2018 to 2020, covers highlights to major UWW events – the World Championships and the European Championships – in 54 territories across Europe and 16 countries in Asia-Pacific on linear channels, online, and via OTT service Eurosport Player.
These rights will complement Eurosport’s coverage of wrestling at the summer Olympic Games. Eurosport holds Olympic Games rights across Europe from 2018 to 2024.
The European Broadcasting Union holds UWW rights across Europe in a four-year deal, from 2017 to 2020, struck in March 2016.
