The Fox International Channels Latin America broadcast subsidiary of media company 21st Century Fox has extended the reach of its Fox Sports 2 channel by agreeing carriage deals with Argentine cable television operator Cablevision and Brazilian pay-television operator Sky Brasil.
The agreement will take effect from November 4. FIC said the deals expand Fox Sports 2’s distribution in the region to over 35 million homes, achieving penetration of 65 per cent of the market.
Cablevision and Sky Brasil subscribers will be able to access Fox Sports 2 programming including football competitions the Copa Libertadores, Copa Sudamericana, Fifa Club World Cup, Recopa Sudamericana and the Uefa Champions League and Europa League.
Mixed martial arts programming from the Bellator series, along with boxing content from Golden Boy Promotions will also be provided, along with rights to NFL American football, MLB baseball and WWE wrestling.
