Dutch pay-television broadcaster Sport1 has agreed a rights deal with the Formula E electric car-racing championship.
Sport1 has been granted exclusive rights to broadcast live coverage of the 2015-16 Formula E season in the Netherlands. The season began in Beijing, China, at the weekend.
“Formula E is continuing to expand its audience globally and with Sport1 we bring yet another top broadcaster to the series,” Ali Russell, director of media and strategic partnerships at Formula E, said. “With (Dutch driver) Robin Frijns racing in this year’s championship we hope that viewer numbers increase.”
Formula E said further broadcast deals will be announced in the coming weeks.
