International sports broadcaster Eleven Sports has hired Giuliano Giorgetti as its new managing director in Italy, with the former Serie A club executive also set to take on a broader role within parent company Aser.
Giorgetti (pictured), who begins his role immediately, will be responsible for further expanding Eleven’s growth in Italy, including increasing revenues, developing strategic partnerships, and overseeing the day to day operations. He replaces Bruno Stirparo as managing director, who will remain as an advisor to Eleven Sports.
Giorgetti has spent 17 years in the football industry working for AC Milan and then city rival Inter Milan.
At AC Milan he digitally transformed the club with a special focus on content strategy, user experience, social media and marketing.
Giorgetti led the digital revolution at Inter Milan, helping to turn the club into modern entertainment business by managing the rebrand of its television channel. He was also responsible for digital partnerships, media rights and fan acquisition across social and owned media platforms.
As well as his role at Eleven Sports Italy, Giorgetti will act as head of digital and commercial partnerships at global investment company Aser. He will report directly to Eleven Sports group managing director, Danny Menken and Aser managing director, Marco Pistoni.
Giorgetti said: “I am looking forward to applying my skills that I have developed over nearly two decades in the sports and media sectors to help drive innovation and change. We are open to every opportunity in this moment where the scenario changes rapidly.”
