The Asian Table Tennis Union has re-appointed the IEC in Sports agency to distribute the global media rights for its events on an exclusive basis through to the end of 2017.
The agreement takes immediate effect and has an option to extend for an additional four years.
In addition to media rights distribution, IEC in Sports will provide a range of agency services, including support with television production and commentary.
Whilst the ATTU will appoint the host broadcaster for all events, the agency will manage broadcast standards, satellite transmission and digital fan interaction.
The ATTU’s main events are the Asian Championships, the Asian Cup and the Euro-Asia Challenge.
“The 2013 Asian Table Tennis Championships in Pusan reached 273.5 million households with live broadcast in 25 territories,” Tony Yue, general secretary of the Asian Table Tennis Union, said. “We appreciate IEC building our long-term relationships with major broadcasters such as Al Jazeera and CCTV but also continually finding new broadcasters such as in Mongolia.”
