Swedish public-service broadcaster SVT has picked up rights to the International Table Tennis Federation’s 2018 World Team Table Tennis Championships, which will take place in Halmstad, Sweden.
SVT will show live coverage of the event on its main channels in the country.
The deal, agreed with the Swedish Table Tennis Association, will mark the first time that the championships will be broadcast on SVT in 20 years.
The event will take place from April 29 to May 6.
In addition, SVT has agreed to broadcast the finals of the forthcoming 2017 ITTF World Tour Swedish Open in Stockholm. The tournament will run from November 13-19.
