IMG, Mandalay team up for films venture

The IMG agency has joined forces with media company Mandalay Sports Media to develop and produce a series of sports-focused feature films.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the companies intend to launch at least 10 films over the next three to five years.

Films will be distributed via streaming platforms and traditional cinema release.

The first project under the new partnership will be a film adaption of the novel, ‘The Art of Fielding’, which focuses on the life of fictional baseball star Henry Skrimshander.

Will Staeger, who will serve as the executive producer for the first film, said: “The depth of our creative resources and relationships across the IMG and MSM partnership will allow us to identify and tell iconic stories that will entertain a broad audience worldwide.”
