Irish public-service broadcaster RTÉ agreed a two-year deal for rights to Irish horse racing events, for the 2012 and 2013 seasons, with Horse Racing Ireland and the Association of Irish Racecourses.
RTÉ will provide 23 days of live coverage of Irish horse racing each year, with broadcasts from the major festivals in Punchestown, Galway and Leopardstown, plus all of the top individual races such as the Irish Grand National and the Irish Derby.
The deal also includes internet rights, with live television coverage to be shown simultaneously online via the RTÉ website.
