UK commercial broadcaster ITV has acquired rights for the World Rally Championship series, which is operated by Fédération Internationale d’Automobile, motor-racing’s global governing body.
The deal will run for the duration of the 2013 campaign.
ITV will show highlights of each round on digital channel ITV4, starting with coverage tomorrow (Tuesday) evening of the Rally Guanajuato event in Mexico which took place over the weekend.
Highlights will be shown on Tuesday evenings following a race the previous weekend.
ITV agreed the deal with the championship’s promoter, a joint-venture between the Sportsman Media Group and Red Bull Media House agencies.
