The welterweight boxing bout between Britain’s Amir Khan and American Devon Alexander in Las Vegas on December 13 has secured broadcast deals in the UK and Germany.
Khan, a 2004 Olympic silver medallist and former unified WBA and IBF light-welterweight champion, will box on UK pay-television broadcaster BSkyB’s Sky Sports platform for the first time since he beat Carlos Molina in December 2012 – his past two outings having been shown by specialist UK boxing subscription channel BoxNation.
In Germany, the fight night will be shown free-to-air by the DMAX channel, as American Keith Thurman puts his interim WBA title on the line against fellow unbeaten fighter Leonard Bundu on the undercard.
The winner of the Khan-Alexander bout has been linked with a lucrative potential showdown against boxing’s pound-for-pound superstar Floyd Mayweather Jr.
