French free-to-air sports broadcaster L'Équipe has acquired rights to the International Ski Federation’s (FIS) Freestyle Skiing and Snowboard World Cups, the 2018 Ice Hockey World Championship and US wrestling organisation WWE.
L'Équipe’s coverage of the FIS events will commence on August 24, with viewers able to watch French Olympic medallists such as Perrine Laffont (pictured), Pierre Vaultier, Marie Martinod and Julia Pereira.
L'Équipe will also broadcast all of France’s games at the Ice Hockey World Championship, which this year takes place in the Danish cities of Copenhagen and Herning from May 4-20.
L'Équipe will also broadcast other significant games from the tournament, as well as France’s warm-up games against Denmark on April 7 and the Czech Republic on April 14.
Meanwhile, L'Équipe has agreed a deal for free-to-air WWE content. From March 10, L'Équipe will broadcast WWE’s flagship Raw programme at 10am on Saturdays, along with a repeat later in the evening.
