Football’s English Premier League confirmed today (Tuesday) a rights deal in Hong Kong with Chinese IPTV operator LeTV.
The exclusive agreement will run for three seasons, from 2016-17 to 2018-19.
LeTV currently shows the league via online and mobile platforms in mainland China through a sublicensing deal with media company Super Sports Media Group, which is the competition’s rights partner in mainland China and Macau.
“We've enjoyed a great partnership with the English Premier League in the past few years as a digital broadcaster in mainland China,” LeTV Sports chief executive Lei Zhenjian said. “We're very excited now to extend this cooperation to Hong Kong.”
