Listed events slash our rights value by 36 per cent, says Cricket Australia

The federation said that research conducted last year into national team Test and one-day matches, which are already listed, showed that media-rights revenue for the events was at least 36-per-cent lower than it would have been if they had not been listed.

The government plans to divide events into an A list and a B list, in response to the new channels being launched by free-to-air broadcasters on Australia’s digital-terrestrial network. The marquee A-list events – which are expected to include the Twenty20 internationals – would not be allowed to be shown exclusively on the digital channels.
