Brazil’s LiveMode agency and 1190 Sports, the international broadcast rights-holder to Brazil’s top two football leagues, have combined to propose taking over commercial management of the leagues with a mystery financial backer apparently ready to provide $800m (€699m) in return for a 20-per-cent share of a new leagues body.
A rival offer has been submitted by Codajas Sports Kapital, a Brazilian company involving industry luminaries that has been set up to invest in football business structures.
