Luge body to repeat streaming initiative

The International Luge Federation (FIL) has announced that it is to stream live coverage of its 2016-17 World Cup and World Championship events.

The federation will stream coverage on its official website, with the majority of events accompanied by English-language commentary.

The FIL also streamed live coverage of events in the 2015-16 season, although the service was not available in Germany and Italy. This year, streaming will be accessible in Germany, provided that a broadcaster is not running its own live stream.

FIL president Josef Fendt said: “The feedback about last season’s live stream was overwhelmingly positive, and we look forward to continuing to provide this service. This represents another step forward in terms of the media coverage of our sport.”
