The Mid-American Conference US collegiate sports competition has struck a multi-year media rights deal with the Ohio-based Buckeye CableSystem Sports Network regional sports broadcaster.
The new partnership will come into effect from the 2015-16 season. The rights were acquired by BCSN through a sublicensing deal with sports broadcaster ESPN.
BCSN will produce and broadcast MAC American football, as well as men’s and women’s basketball and multiple championship events.
BCSN will own territorial sublicensing rights and work with other regional cable networks to make games more widely available.
At least three MAC American football matches will be broadcast during the 2015-16 season, in addition to 16 men’s basketball games, eight women’s basketball games and a minimum of six games from the MAC men’s and women’s Basketball Tournament.
BCSN will also broadcast coverage of select MAC Olympic sport championships.
