MP & Silva links up with Rightster to enhance digital video offering

The MP & Silva agency has partnered with digital video specialist Rightster to launch a range of new digital services using sports media and betting rights.

The partnership will include the creation and management of MP & Silva channels on video-sharing platform YouTube, integrated betting rights services for bookmakers, online video distribution to newspaper sites, and support for MP & Silva broadcast clients with live and video-on-demand streaming services.

Rightster will offer bookmakers interested in the agency’s sports rights portfolio with video services via the internet, mobile and tablet devices.

“MP & Silva aims to maintain its leadership position in the sports rights market through ongoing innovation and providing an even better service to its partners and clients,” Andrea Radrizzani, MP & Silva group chief executive, said. “Part of our job is to look for innovative ways to increase the value of the rights we manage on behalf of sports federations and leagues. We believe that online audiences will continue to grow quickly and we need to provide sports fans with the best digital solutions.”

MP & Silva said Rightster was selected as an exclusive partner because of its “unique position” in understanding online video programming, distribution, monetisation, and audience development, especially on YouTube.

The agency currently provides over 10,000 hours of programming annually to over 500 broadcasters in over 200 countries. MP & Silva’s rights portfolio includes football from the Italian Serie A, English Premier League, Spanish Primera Liga, German Bundesliga and the Brazilian Campeonato Brasileirão.
