Sony-owned broadcaster Multi Screen Media will simulcast the 2013 season of the Indian Premier League Twenty20 cricket tournament on its Hindi movie channel Max, along with its sports channel Six.
“With the simulcast of the Indian Premier League 2013 on Max and Six, we aim to reach out to millions more viewers spanning the nation,” MSM chief operating officer NP Singh said, according to the Indian Television news website. “Through this, we hope to take the popularity of IPL 2013 to the next level.”
Six was launched in April 2012 to coincide with last season’s edition of the IPL. The channel strengthened its presence in India by signing new carriage deals with satellite-television broadcaster Tata Sky and Airtel’s digital-television service in November.
The sixth season of the IPL will run from April 3 to May 26.
