Filipino telecommunications company Globe Telecom has agreed a multi-year deal with the North American NBA basketball league to jointly develop and distribute various video content services in the Philippines.
Under the deal, Globe Telecom will offer its mobile and broadband customers in the country the opportunity to access the NBA League Pass subscription service, which allows fans to view games live and on-demand through multiple devices.
The NBA League Pass offers coverage of regular-season games, All-star weekend events, the playoffs and finals, as well as selected pre-season and Summer League matches. Subscribers can also access various multi-game viewing options.
Globe Telecom will also showcase additional NBA video content through its new PisoMall video platform, which has been optimised for use mobile use.
Earlier this year, the NBA also extended its rights partnerships with Filipino commercial broadcaster ABS-CBN and national pay-television broadcaster Solar Entertainment.
