North American basketball league the NBA has entered into a digital media partnership in the UK market with the GiveMeSport platform.
The agreement, terms of which were undisclosed, will result in the launch of GiveMeSport.com/NBA, the league’s new official online destination in the UK.
The site, which will be launched in the coming weeks, will be hosted in a dedicated section of GiveMeSport.com and will feature a range of multimedia content including videos, highlights, localised editorial and real-time statistics. Video highlights will include individual game recaps and the Top 10 Plays of the Day.
GiveMeSport chief executive Nick Thain said: “This deal highlights the calibre of partner we are looking to work with, and we’re excited to bring the NBA directly to the British sports fan.”
GiveMeSport.com/NBA will be the league’s 18th international web destination. The NBA was the first professional sports league in the US to offer specific international web destinations for fans with the launch of NBA.com/Japan in 1999.
