American football’s NFL has appointed the IMG agency to distribute media rights in parts of Asia.
The deal will run for three years, from 2014-15 to 2016-17.
The agency has been licensing broadcast rights on behalf of the NFL for the past five years in certain European markets.
IMG will distribute live coverage of games, including regular-season and playoff games plus the Super Bowl, as well as support programming such as NFL Gameday, NFL Extra and NFL Draft.
“IMG has proven to be a successful partner for us in Europe and we are pleased to expand our business with them into Asia,” the NFL’s vice-president of international media and business development, Julie Moeller, said.
