North America’s NHL ice hockey league has agreed a US rights deal for the 2014 World Junior Championship, with games being broadcast through league-owned cable and satellite television channel NHL Network and official website NHL.com.
NHL Network will broadcast 18 live games from the International Ice Hockey Federation-sanctioned tournament, including the USA’s games versus Canada, the Czech Republic, Germany and Slovakia, the quarter-finals, semi-finals and bronze and gold medal games.
NHL.com will stream all USA games at the tournament for users in the US, along with offering comprehensive tournament coverage including the latest news and match highlights.
Defending champion USA will attempt to win a fourth medal in five years at the men’s under-20 tournament, which takes place in Malmo, Sweden from December 26 to January 5.
