No sweethearts on international rights, says Lega

Executives at several of the agencies which are considering bidding for the rights fear that one company – the Milan-based MP&Silva – has a competitive advantage because of its historical links with Infront Sports & Media, the league’s media adviser.

But the league’s director general, Marco Brunelli, told TV Sports Markets that there was no possibility of any kind of ‘sweet deal.’ “The whole tender procedure is subject to stringent conditions and guidelines,” Brunelli said. “The details of the auction have been made public [on the league’s website] and the offers will be made in sealed envelopes. Our approach is to drive competition as much as possible, not to limit it in any way.”
