Norwegian public-service broadcaster NRK has extended rights deals with the country’s national ski association and Fis, skiing’s global governing body.
The rights will run for five years, from 2016-17 to 2020-21. The deal with Fis, which was brokered by the Infront Sports & Media agency, includes coverage of World Cup events in Alpine skiing, Nordic skiing and freestyle skiing.
The agreement with the national governing body also includes national events in cross-country, ski jumping and downhill skiing.
NRK sports director Rune Haug said the agreements had come as a “great relief” after “very intense negotiations”.
