Oerlemans departs ESPN

Jeroen Oerlemans, the vice-president of television channels at ESPN’s Europe, Middle East and Africa division, has left the sports broadcaster.

TV Sports Markets understands that Oerlemans left the company last week to “pursue other professional and personal opportunities.”

It is not known whether there are plans to appoint a successor to Oerlemans, who joined the company in 2009 and reported to Ross Hair, ESPN’s managing director of the Europe, Middle East and Africa division.

His departure is not linked to ESPN’s UK pay-television channel losing the live rights for football’s English Premier League and the English Premiership, the top tier of rugby union in the country, for the next rights cycle.
