The International Floorball Federation has appointed Protocol Sports Marketing as its exclusive worldwide media-rights distributor and sponsorship agency.
As part of the agreement, Protocol Sports will develop, market and distribute media and sponsorship assets for all IFF events, including the men’s and women’s World Floorball Championships, WFC regional qualifying events, U19 World Floorball Championships, the IFF Champions Cup and Euro Floorball Cup.
While floorball has an established presence in the Nordic region and Central Europe, the IFF is targeting growth in new markets and expanding awareness across developing territories.
John Liljelund, secretary general at the International Floorball Federation, said: “Floorball has experienced steady growth over the past few years, culminating in the sport’s inclusion in the 2017 World Games and a highly successful 2018 Men’s World Floorball Championship.
“We are excited to collaborate with Protocol Sports as we expand the sport of floorball globally to enhance the awareness and market value of the sport.”
The IFF deal comes after Protocol struck similar agreements earlier this year with Liga ACB, the top division of basketball in Spain, and the World Boxing Super Series.
