DAZN, the OTT sports subscription service operated by digital media specialist Perform, has agreed a deal to begin streaming coverage of Professional Squash Association events to audiences in Japan.
DAZN will stream live coverage of various PSA competitions, such as the World Championships, Tournament of Champions and the British Open.
The five-year deal was brokered by the Broadreach Media agency.
PSA chief executive Alex Gough said: “Japan, and Asia in general, is an untapped market for the game and our agreement with DAZN will open up the sport to an entirely new audience in what is a significant move for squash.
“With major Asia pay-television platforms including PCCW, Truevisions, Astro, Indovision, Ten Sports and Eleven Sports broadcasting squash into millions of homes across the region, the DAZN agreement is the next stage in our long-term digital strategy, following our partnership with Eurosport Digital Player in Europe, and is in addition to PSA’s own SquashTV digital service.”
