Italy’s top-tier women’s volleyball league has announced media rights agreements with public-service broadcaster Rai and Italian sports streaming platform PMG Sport.
Ahead of the season-opening Serie A Femminile game on October 12, details have been revealed about this season’s coverage.
Rai is to show a match each weekend on its Rai Sport channel, although there is a possibility that some games could receive greater exposure by being switched to the broadcaster’s generalist channels.
PMG has acquired the internet rights to Serie A1 games, excluding the weekly matches to be broadcast by Rai. The games will be distributed widely on PMG Sport’s website, its Facebook and YouTube channels, the Repubblica.it and Sport.it portals, and on the league’s official LVF TV service.
Further streaming agreements are under discussion in order to widen the digital coverage further.
The league said that the agreements with Rai and PMG Sport had delivered increased broadcast rights revenues.
