The Saran Media agency has agreed a one-season extension for the exclusive broadcast rights in Turkey to the EuroCup, the second-tier European club basketball competition.
Saran has agreed the deal for the 2019-20 season with the IMG agency. The package covers all matches across television broadcast, internet and mobile platforms. In addition to live matches, coverage will include weekly highlights programming.
The EuroCup will be broadcast in Turkey by Saran’s S Sport2 channel. Three Turkish teams are participating in the EuroCup this season – Galatasaray Doğa Sigorta, Tofaş Bursa and Darüşşafaka Tekfen Istanbul.
S Sport is available on four pay-television platforms in the Turkey – beIN, D-Smart, Tivibu and Turkcell TV+.
Rights in Turkey to the top-tier Euroleague are held by Digiturk, the Turkish pay-television operator owned by beIN Media Group. The broadcaster recently extended its agreement by three years to the end of the 2021-22 season.
Other basketball business carried out this year by Saran in Turkey includes the acquisition of exclusive multi-platform rights to a series of national team events operated by Fiba, basketball’s global governing body.
