Multi-territory sports broadcaster Setanta Sports has agreed a distribution deal for its newly launched channel in Ukraine with telco Volia.
Setanta Sports launched in Ukraine on August 1, having picked up a host of sports rights including the English Premier League.
Since then, Setanta has been agreeing further distribution deals in order to receive the widest possible exposure. As well as Volia, the sports broadcaster also has agreements with several Ukrainian platforms, including the OTT service Megogo.
Both Megogo and Volia have made moves over the last 18 months to build their own sports portfolio, with Volia picking up rights to Uefa’s club competitions and Megogo acquiring rights to several top European football leagues.
The Setanta Sports OTT service is distributed by the digital division of Ukrainian broadcasting group StarLightMedia.
