Setanta Sports Eurasia snaps up F1 rights

The Setanta Sports Eurasia arm of international sports broadcaster Setanta Sports has agreed a two-year rights deal with Formula One Management covering the 2014 and 2015 seasons of the motor-racing championship.

Under the terms of the deal, the Setanta Sports Eurasia channel will broadcast F1 in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.  Coverage begins on March 16 with the season-opening Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne.

The deal will cover all race weekends. All F1 content will be broadcast with Russian language commentary.
