Portuguese pay-television broadcaster Sport TV will launch a free-to-view channel next month.
Sport TV Plus will launch to coincide with the broadcaster’s coverage of the 2016 summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Sport TV said that the channel would provide coverage of national and international sport, with a particular focus on major European football leagues as well as basketball, boxing, handball and tennis.
The channel will be based in Porto and will be available in standard and high-definition formats for pay-television subscribers at no extra cost.
