German sports broadcaster Sport1 has moved to bundle its online video and on-demand content with the launch of a new video platform.
The optimised video player will allow users to adjust settings to match their personal preferences, including being able to order content.
Customers can access the platform via the ‘Video’ button on the main Sport1.de website.
Pascal Damm, chief operating officer digital at Sport1, also said that the service will be made available to users through television and digital platforms.
Sport1 holds rights to sports events such as football’s English Premier League and Italy’s Serie A, as well as North America’s NBA basketball league, NHL ice hockey competition, NFL American football league and Major League Baseball.
Meanwhile, Sport1 has acquired rights to broadcast live all of the German national team’s games at the upcoming men’s and women’s World Indoor Cups.
Sport1 will broadcast live coverage of both teams’ group matches, as well as any matches in the knockout phase, should Germany progress to this stage of the tournaments. Both events will take place in Germany next month.
