Public-service broadcaster the Public Television and Radio Company of Azerbaijan (ITV) acquired free-to-air rights for the 2014 winter Olympic Games and the 2016 summer Games in a deal with the Sportfive agency.
ITV, which is the incumbent Olympics rights-holder in the country, will increase the amount of coverage it shows of the winter Olympics under the new deal.
The Sportfive agency, appointed by the International Olympic Committee to sell the rights to the Olympic Games of 2014 and 2016 in 40 European territories, launched the tender for the rights in Azerbaijan in February last year.
