Sports Flick, a relatively new sports streaming platform based in Sydney, has stunned the Australian media-rights market by outbidding established, major players to secure rights for the Uefa Champions League, according to local media reports.
The Sydney Morning Herald reported on Friday that Sports Flick won a blind-auction tender process to secure the rights for the Champions League for the three seasons from 2021-22 to 2023-24. There has been no official announcement of the deal by either Sports Flick or the sellers, Uefa and its commercial rights sales agent Team Marketing.
