Swiss public-service broadcaster SRG SSR has extended a rights deal for the annual Athletissima Lausanne track and field athletics event in Switzerland for four years, from 2013 to 2016, according to the Rapid TV News website.
Under the deal, SRG SSR will continue to show the event in Switzerland, and will produce coverage for all international broadcasters.
SRG SSR agreed the deal directly with the organisers of the event.
The event is part of the International Association of Athletics Federations’ Diamond League series, the top tier of annual athletics meetings.
Last year, SRG SSR sealed a similar deal for another Diamond League event in Switzerland, the Weltklasse Zürich.
