StarSat, the South African satellite-television platform operated by pay-television broadcaster On Digital Media, has agreed a two-year rights deal for motorsport’s World Rally Championship.
The agreement, which covers the 2015 and 2016 WRC seasons, will result in StarSat broadcasting 90 hours of content per campaign.
Gary Rathbone, director of sport at StarSat stakeholder StarTimes, said: “This is one of the world’s most exciting motorsport championships, which is good news for the many motorsport enthusiasts among our subscribers. As an added bonus this year, South African driver Henk Lategan is participating.”
The agreement commences with the season-opening Rallye Monte Carlo, which began yesterday (Thursday) and runs through to Sunday.
