TV Sports Markets unveils major digital sports rights event at Sportel Monaco

TV Sports Markets today unveiled the line-up for a high-level panel discussion on digital sport at Sportel Monaco in October.

The panel, Sport Online: The evolution of business models for digital sports content, features:

• Simon Greenberg, global head of rights, News Corp
• Frank Leenders, director general, Fiba Media & Marketing Services
• Stephen Nuttall, senior director, YouTube EMEA

The panel, which takes place on October 7, will be moderated by Frank Dunne, editor of TV Sports Markets.

“The internet has revolutionised the way we consume sports content and it has taken the industry a few years to really know how to deal with that,” Dunne said. “We are now in a position where there are mature businesses and serious income in the sector and it will be fascinating to discuss that evolution with cutting-edge media companies like News Corp and YouTube and one of sport’s biggest rights-holders in Fiba.”

The panel is one of two that will be presented by TV Sports Markets at Sportel Monaco. On October 8, a top-level panel will be dedicated to European club football.

The panel, Winning Media Strategies: the media-rights strategies of Europe’s top leagues, features:

• Javier Tebas, president, Liga Nacional de Fútbol Profesional, Spain
• Jörg Daubitzer, managing director, DFL Sports Enterprises, Germany
• Mathieu Ficot, chief commercial officer, Ligue de Football Professionnel, France
