Sports media industry veteran Alastair Waddington has been appointed as the first director of sport at UK-based ITN Productions.
Waddington, a co-founder of sports news video agency SNTV, is a former executive vice-president and chief operating officer at the IMG agency.
Waddington also served as a consultant to commercial broadcaster Channel 4 for the 2012 Paralympic Games and the 2010 World Athletics Championships.
Mark Browning, group managing director of ITN Productions, said: “Alastair has run the largest independent production business in the world which included thousands of hours of sport, so I’m delighted he is joining ITN Productions. He shares our ambition, and is a good fit for our culture as we establish ourselves as a central player in sports production.”
