World Archery has signed a rights agreement with South Korean commercial broadcaster KBS.
The three-year deal includes rights to the Archery World Cup and World Archery Championship until the end of 2020.
The agreement covers the lead-up to and qualification period for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. KBS will be granted rights across linear and digital platforms.
KBS will also cover the Seoul leg of the new Indoor Archery World Series and will work with World Archery to further raise the profile of the sport in the country.
Korea represents a key market for World Archery, with a number of top players originating from the country. Korea’s Kim Woojin (pictured) and Chang Hye Jin are currently the No.1 ranked men’s and women’s recurve athletes in the world.
KBS replaces fellow commercial broadcaster SBS, which had served as World Archery’s partner in Korea since 2010.
