Yahoo teams up with ESL

The Yahoo Esports division of internet company Yahoo has agreed a two-year partnership with esports organisation ESL.

Under the agreement, which will run until 2018, ESL competitions such as the ESL One and the IEM global series will be distributed across Yahoo’s properties. Yahoo will stream live coverage of ESL-produced events in high-definition around the world.

The two parties will also work on organising new tournaments, which will be covered by Yahoo.

Nik Adams, senior vice-president of sales at ESL, said: “ESL (is) in a unique position to be able to offer access to some of the world’s best esports competitions, and having a partner like Yahoo Esports means we will not only reach a broader audience with a supreme quality broadcast, but also deliver exclusive editorial content for esports fans worldwide."
