Major League Lacrosse, the sport’s top league in North America, has struck a deal with YouTube to make games available on a live basis via the video-sharing website.
Under the deal, 15 games will be streamed in high definition via the league’s dedicated page on YouTube.
The deal was brokered by the Lacrosse Network, which has had a channel on YouTube since 2011 and will provide distribution and technical support for the coverage.
The length of the deal has not been disclosed, but the first game to be streamed live will be the Boston Cannons v New York Lizards clash on April 28.
In November, the Lacrosse Network brokered a deal for games from the National Lacrosse League, the sport’s top indoor league in North America, to be shown live on YouTube for the duration of the 2013 season.
