Digital video company Base79, which operates more than 600 channels on video-sharing website YouTube, has struck a deal with the Fédération Française de Football, the French football federation.
Under the deal, France national football team games will be streamed live via a dedicated channel on YouTube in selected European and Asian markets.
The length of the deal was not disclosed, but the first game to be streamed live will be the France v Germany friendly match tonight (Wednesday). Base79 will show the game on YouTube in the UK, the Netherlands and Japan.
An edited highlights package will also be made available on the dedicated YouTube channel to a global audience.
