Rugby League: Telecoms company Telstra agreed a deal with Australia’s National Rugby League for the league’s internet, mobile and title sponsorship rights worth an overall A$90m (£36m/€54m) over the six years from 2007 to 2012. The deal is understood to include a cash component of A$60m. Australian free-to-air broadcaster Nine Network and pay-television operator Foxtel, the league’s television partners, will only be able to show limited internet coverage – 30 seconds per match – as a result of the deal.
