February 11-March 12: Team Marketing, Uefa’s Champions League sales agent, launched a tender on February 11 for the next three year period from 2009-10 to 2011-12. Strong bidding was expected from all parties, with incumbent broadcasters ITV and BSkyB facing competition from pay-broadcaster Setanta, the BBC and RTL-owned commercial channel Five. ITV was particularly concerned about a reprisal from the BBC, from which it had snatched FA rights last year.
