German public-service broadcasters ARD and ZDF have acquired rights for the International Ski Federation’s (FIS) Alpine and Nordic World Ski Championships in 2019 and 2021.
ARD and ZDF will broadcast live and delayed coverage of both events to audiences in Germany. The deal also includes highlights and news coverage.
The rights agreement will cover television, online and mobile platforms in the country.
The deal was brokered by the Infront Sports & Media agency, the exclusive media and marketing partner of the FIS.
ARD and ZDF were present in negotiations that were conducted through SportA, the sports-rights agency that represents both channels.
