Brazilian pay-television broadcaster Bandsports has acquired rights for Serie A1, the top division of volleyball in Italy, in a deal with the MP & Silva agency.
The duration of the deal has not been confirmed, but it will cover at least the 2012-13 season, which will run from October 7 to April 13.
Bandsports said that the presence of three Brazilian players – Raphael Oliveira, Bruno Zanuto and Davidson Lampariello – in Serie A1, would stoke domestic interest in the tournament.
Earlier this week, MP & Silva struck an agreement to distribute the Italian Volleyball League’s worldwide media rights for four years, from 2012-13 to 2015-16.
