US cable-television channel the CBS Sports Network, which is operated by the CBS network, has acquired rights for events operated by the Professional Bowlers Association, the sanctioning body for professional ten-pin bowling in the country.
The length of the “multi-year” deal was not disclosed, but CBS Sports Network will begin the agreement by showing a series of five events in June.
Under the deal, the broadcaster will show two-hour programmes covering the events on Tuesday evenings.
“The PBA has a storied history and an established fan base and we’re pleased to add it to our extensive line-up of event programming,” Dan Weinberg, CBS Sports Network’s senior vice-president of programming, said.
