Anthony Joshua’s latest defence of his WBA, IBF and WBO titles on September 22 will air exclusively in Canada on Perform-owned streaming platform DAZN.
The deal comes two months after the announcement that the fight – against Alexander Povetkin – will launch the DAZN platform in the US.
Perform and Matchroom Boxing agreed to form Matchroom USA, a joint-venture boxing promotion, in May. The promotion will stage 16 US-based boxing events per year, which will be shown on Perform-owned streaming platform DAZN wherever it operates, however rights to fights involving Anthony Joshua are not included.
It has also been announced today (September 14) that international sports broadcaster Eleven Sports has picked up the rights for the title fight in Portugal, Myanmar and Taiwan.
