Finnish telco DNA has struck a deal to extend carriage of pan-European sports broadcaster Eurosport’s channels.
The broader carriage agreement, encompassing other channels operated by media company Discovery Communications, was reached just before Christmas.
Earlier in December, DNA warned it was preparing to suspend the distribution of Discovery and Eurosport channels from January 1 after citing the “disproportionate increase” in the distribution fees sought by Discovery.
The previous carriage agreement between DNA and Discovery was due to expire at the end of 2017, but the new deal means that viewers have been offered an uninterrupted service.
Eurosport will provide coverage in the country of the 2018 winter Olympic Games, which will get underway in Pyeongchang next month.
